Bossa nova is a style of Brazilian music found a lot in jazz. In bass playing, it is characterised by root-fifth movement. In this video lesson, I show you how to make up some beautiful sounding chord progressions and play them with fingerstyle technique.
Chords aren't that common when you play bass in bands or on recordings but they're fun to play and essential when you want to write your own music.
Play the notes of a chord separately and you will start to sound more like a traditional bass player.
