"Tone comes from your hands". You hear this a lot and I kind of agree, but I tend to think it is a combination of your hands and your gear. However, in this lesson, I'm going to show you how to get some different sounds just using your two hands and no other amp or bass settings.
The techniques covered are:
- Hand placement
- Palm muting
- Rest strokes/free strokes
- Left hand muting
- Angle of attack
- Slap - including double thumbing
- Strumming techniques
- Patting
- Using you fingers/thumb as a plectrum
- Hammer ons, pull offs, bends, vibratos, slides and ghost notes
The video covers a lot of ground and will open up some new ways for you to explore pulling out different sounds from your bass.
What techniques do you mostly use?
