Reading Music [Complete Walk Through & Live Play Along]

If you want to learn to read music on bass then this lesson is for you!

Reading music is great. It's a skill that develops:

  1. Your sense of rhythm
  2. Your knowledge of the bass fretboard
  3. Your all round musicality

Scroll down for the free PDF (with and without TAB) and backing track as well as some more reading music resources to turn you into a reading expert.

Reading Music on Bass - Notation/TAB

I highly recommend you study the version without TAB. TAB is like a crutch and you want to learn on your own two feet as soon as possible. That means get rid of TAB (or cover it up if you're practising using music that has TAB).

When you feel comfortable, you can play along to this backing track.
