In my recent bass lesson These 14 Bass Tips are GUARANTEED inspiration, one tip was to play along to a song straight through without stopping.
One of the songs suggested was the one we'll look at in this lesson: Praying For Time by George Michael from his second solo album Listen Without Prejudice Vol.1.
I've been playing bass for 34 years and I still love playing this bass line. I also think that if you take up bass today, you can play this next week. It's simple but the song is amazing and, therefore, the experience of playing it is rewarding and gratifying.
Since the song is so easy, I'm using it as an opportunity to learn to read music. To download the free score with and without TAB, just scroll down. There's also a playalong as well as two versions of the song for you to listen to.
Finally, there are some reading music and bass song resources for you. Scroll down for those too.

Praying For Time - George Michael: Playalong and original version
Here's a playalong I recorded. You can follow along or just watch to see how it's played.
This is the original which is in Bb. You can also play along to this one.
I absolutely love this version; from the live album Symphonica. It's down a half-step in the key of A so you'd need to transpose to play along to this one. Just shift everything down a fret.
