Jamiroquai-Style Funk Bass Line (Counting, Timing, Groove, Technique, Creating Lines & Fills)

This is a sample lesson from my Funk Bass course.

In this video lesson I show you a Jamiroquai-style funk bass line. Stuart Zender and Paul Turner are both amazing bassists and this line is based on their playing. There are four other similar lines (that can be played together) in the course.

You will learn:

  • Dotted 1/8th to 1/16th rhythm - a common funk groove
  • Triads, arpeggios, and scales you can use to create your own fills and lines (once I've showed you exactly how to play the line)
  • The techniques behind playing the groove accurately and with excellent timing
  • Some practice tips

The whole course is taught this way so check it out if you're interested.

Incidentally, all the grooves are taken from my book 100 Funk Bass Grooves.
