I had so many requests to do a follow up of a previous Jaco Pastorius bass lesson I recently made.
Here's that one if you haven't seen it:
Jaco Pastorius Signature Lick - (Used To Be A) Cha Cha
In this bass tutorial, I'll show you seven more awesome RnB style licks Jaco used to use quite a lot.
The licks from this week's lesson came from a jam in 1985 at Musicians Institute in LA. Patrick Buchmann was the drummer that day and the footage is on his excellent channel. The video is well worth your time. It contains a treasure trove of incredible bass licks by the greatest to ever do it.
TAB - 8 AMAZING Jaco Pastorius Bass Licks
Take these slow and steady as they're quite tough!
If you love that kind of RnB style, you might like my RnB, Soul & Motown bass course which contains forty licks in the style of the greats. I teach you each lick and then break down the style, theory, tone, and techniques.
