The Dorian Mode For Bass Guitar

The Dorian mode is to funk, what the major scale is to nursery rhymes. It has an edgy, bright but cool sound and is also used a lot in jazz and rock bass playing.

It's amazing and you need to know it!

This bass tutorial will teach you the following about this amazing mode.

  1. How it is formed and what a mode is
  2. What you can use this knowledge for (namely; playing lots of cool bass lines, fills, and solos)
  3. How to memorise and learn the shapes and patterns and intervals
  4. How to train your ear to hear Dorian

Make sure to scroll down for the free PDF containing all the shapes you need to know.

If you're into funk, by the way, have you checked out my Funk Bass course? It will teach you the techniques, style, theory, and tone behind funk bass. I also have a funk bass book you might like.
