This lesson shows you how to play the riff then breaks down why it works.
You'll be able to effortlessly write your own rock bass riffs after watching this lesson.
Then, I'll teach you how to get a fantastic rock bass tone!
Rock Bass Riff Construction
The book is loaded with 105 (I couldn't resist five bonus riffs!) rock bass lines in the style of the greats from John Entwistle to Chris Wolstenholme.
You'll learn a lot about how these amazing players write and play rock bass riffs.
From the video lesson above we can simplify things down:
- Take a simple bunch of notes (e.g. from A Minor Pentatonic)
- Use very simple rhythms (1/4 and 1/8th notes)
- Make up a repeating pattern over a number of bars (a riff)
- Dial in a monster rock tone!
There you have it - a rock riff!
Check out the video lesson to watch me show you how to create your own bass riffs and fills.
