Play Bass Like Jimi Hendrix!

This bass tutorial combines a very cool bass line and a blistering bass solo. What more could you want??

Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix is one chord progression throughout with a chromatic bass line transporting you to each chord:

C G/ D A / E/ E

That chromatic bit only comes in towards the end of the original song but, in this lesson, I'll show you how to use chromatic patterns for the C G/ D A section, and a Minor Blues scale for the E chords.

The patterns can be found below along with a free PDF containing all the shapes.

This is just a bit of fun and something good to practise - make sure you don't break into a solo if you play this on a gig!

Here's how the master played it.
