Getting Different Tones From A Fender Precision Bass

Following on from the last video on the iconic Fender Jazz, this post focuses on its older brother the Precision; the world's first commercially available electric bass guitar. Brought to market in 1951, the design and sound of the Precision has remained largely unchanged. It is one of the most incredible design feats that Leo Fender got this so right first time around.

Famous P bass players include James Jamerson, Pino Palladino, Michael League, and Carol Kaye. The thick, full sound of the Precision is perfect for sitting in the mix of a live band or recording and this is the reason so many bass players favor this instrument above others.
